Angry about Gas Prices??

John Hoffmeister of Shell Oil: "I can guarantee to the American people, because of the inaction of the United States Congress, ever-increasing prices unless the demand comes down. And the $5 will look like a very low price in the years to come if we are prohibited from finding new reserves, new opportunities to increase supplies."
[cheap shot: I just want to point out that it's a democratic congress for the past year and a half. Gas was $2.80 a year and a half ago.]

Maxine Waters, D-CA: "And guess what this liberal would be all about. This liberal will be about socializing...uh, um...."

The congresswoman paused to collect her thoughts.

"Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies...." [is this chick for serious?? when has the government ever been able to provide anything to us for a CHEAPER price?!]

The oil executives responded by saying they've seen this before, in Hugo Chavez's Venezuela.

That's where we're headed, people. At least Venezuela's a tropical climate. Maybe we should pack our bags and move there :o)
